We are now at the tail end of the seasonally busy summer months which, as expected, were the busiest months of ’10 to date. What can we say looking back? A good bit of volume came from locals looking for needing to change their living situations, but even more volume from renters moving in from out of town. Unlike last year, the latter group has been rather significant. The inventory that has been available has moved very quickly, particularly at lower price-points, leaving many renters stressing from losing their apartments of choice based on either taking too long to make a decision or having unrealistic negotiation expectations. Here are links to TREGNY’s and Jonathan Miller’s take on the rental market, for the data driven among you.
